A Look at Our Event with T. Rowe Price's Women Leaders

On June 19th, PowerToFly was thrilled to host our first event with T. Rowe Price, which was also our first event in the Baltimore-area. Held at T. Rowe Price's sprawling office in Owings Mills, the event included a panel discussion with several of the company's women tech leaders as well as plenty of networking time.


Hosted by PowerToFly's Dionna Smith, the night began with a keynote address by T. Rowe Price's Kris Caverly, Group Manager, Software Engineering, followed by a tech talk, lead by Maria Chirgott, Principal Business Analyst.

The centerpiece of the evening was an in-depth panel discussion featuring women leaders from throughout the organization including Amy Chow, Software Engineer; Rachel Kurtz, Senior Infrastructure Operations Analyst; Anjana Ortwein, Software Engineer; Shelley Bliss, VP Cyber Analytics, Governance & Reporting and Yvette Briscoe, Sr. Infrastructure Operations Analyst.

The night concluded with plenty of more networking time over some truly delicious food and refreshments. To top it all off, our guests departed with some sweet T. Rowe Price swag.

Whether it's disagreeing with your manager's feedback, going head-to-head with a coworker for a promotion, or feeling supreme levels of annoyance at the department head who consistently claims credit for work he didn't do, all of us have gotten into it at some point on the job. (One of my favorite personal conflicts was when a woman who worked for me refused to use our publication's style guide when communicating on behalf of the business.
