We're pleased to announce that Crain's has ranked Cockroach Labs #1 in the large companies category of its 2021 Best Places to Work in New York City list. This is the second year in a row Cockroach Labs has received this ranking, having also ranked first in the mid-sized category in 2019.
Our founders named Cockroach Labs after resilience and survival. During the past two years the strength of our culture and community helped us sustain that resilience as we navigated through turbulent times. From the very beginning, our goal was to build a human-forward business where our employees could balance their careers with their personal lives. We have built programs for better recruiting, more flexibility, better support, more opportunities in and out of the office, and fostered an environment where diversity of thought exists and is celebrated. Cockroach Labs has grown by over 100 Roachers in the last year and, despite such rapid growth, maintaining a human-centered culture remains a top priority for the company.
