Meet the Women Who Are Changing the Advertising Industry, An Evening Networking with Women Tech Leaders at VideoAmp

BECAUSE OF ONGOING HEALTH CONCERNS, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED. WE'RE SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

PowerToFly is going to Los Angeles for an evening of networking for women in AdTech. We've partnered with VideoAmp (a fast-growing startup that provides data solutions to help bridge the divide between TV and digital media) to present a night of networking and panel discussions featuring VideoAmp's women tech leaders.

The event will be held on Thursday, March 19th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at VideoAmp, located at 2229 S Carmelina Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90064.

Agenda (subject to change)

  • 6:30pm - Check-in and networking over light food and refreshments
  • 7:00pm - Kickoff by PowerToFly
  • 7:05pm - Welcome Address by Ross McCray, CEO
  • 7:15pm - Tech Talks
    • Misti Mordoch, Principal Product Manager on "Data & Tech with Advertising"
    • Hope Kim, Full Stack Engineer on "PreAmp and Micro-fragment Architecture"
  • 7:30pm - Panel Discussion with women leaders and allies at VideoAmp
  • 7:45pm - Audience Q&A
  • 8:00pm - Networking continues

VideoAmp's mission is to challenge the paradigm on how brand marketing is valued, bought and sold. Their data and software solutions enable marketers and media owners to optimize their entire portfolio of linear TV, OTT and digital video advertising by measuring how the ads performed against in-market sales prospects. They then recommend optimizations and automate their execution to maximize return on marketing investment.

Although this is a networking event (you don't have to be looking for a job to attend), VideoAmp is hiring. Their competitive benefits include flexible work schedules, generous PTO, weekly lunches, transit benefits and more. Visit VideoAmp's page on PowerToFly to learn more about the company and their open roles.

About our Events: All RSVP'd attendees are welcome, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, or age. If you require assistance to fully participate in this event, please email hi@powertofly.com, and we will contact you to discuss your specific needs.

Unfortunately, PowerToFly and VideoAmp cannot admit outside recruiters to this particular event. Please email hi@powertofly.com if you have any questions about this policy.

9 Tips for Hosting a Successful, Collaborative Hackathon, from Quip

A company that is built around offering modern collaboration software needs to believe in the power of bringing people together.

Luckily, that's just what Quip is all about.

Their annual three-day hackathon Quiprupt is an example of what collaboration looks like not just as a product offering but also as a core tenet of company culture. We asked participants from Quiprupt 2021 to tell us about their experience coming together to ship cool stuff—and how Quip's culture sets them up to be able to find meaningful work while building better products.

Experience is the greatest teacher, and the experience of being a mom is particularly chock-full of learning opportunities.

We know from the examples set by our coworkers and friends just how good moms are at juggling competing responsibilities and priorities. ("If you want to make sure something gets done, give it to a busy person" would be even more accurate if it was changed to "give it to a working mom.")

So this Mother's Day, we decided to ask working moms at our partner companies about the secret sauce that connects parenting experience to being better and happier at work.
